Easter Season at Kids Connection

The Easter season is under way here at Powerhouse’s Kids Connection. This month we are asking the question, “Who is Jesus?” All of our classes are learning about the life of Jesus. Our younger classes are learning about the miracles Jesus performed and the impact they made in His ministry. Our older classes are taking it a step further and learning about the prophecies of the coming Messiah and His ministry. Our kids are learning how every aspect of Jesus’ ministry was very intentional from the prophecies to the parables, to the miracles and the people He chose to share His ministry with. Our kids are opening their eyes and ears to the word. They are leaving church full of the Spirit and with an enthusiasm for their faith and all that it can do for others. God is good and we praise him for our kids and the teachers who minister to them.

Join us every Sunday to learn and live the life Christ wants us to. Our church serves everyone including the towns of Ramsey, Allendale, Wyckoff, Suffern, Mahwah, Oakland, Waldwick, Glen Rock, Ridgewood, Saddle River, and many more towns.

The Light That Burns

I am one of 9 children from an Irish Catholic family. Religion and our faith were a large part of our family’s life. My parents were very active in our church, and we attended Catholic School. I remember every Sunday morning piling into our station wagon, little kids on big kids laps and off we went to church.  I remember resting my head on my father’s lap listening to the priest or singing the songs along with the congregation. I remember my mother’s face staring us down as my brothers and sisters would try to get each other to laugh.

I liked church, it was familiar and safe and I was with my family. Together, they were two of my favorite things… Continue reading

Adjust Your Life

Don’t Let Your Circumstances Determine Your Next Step

In my last post I covered the 5th Reality of Experiencing God mentioned by Henry Blackaby in his book Experiencing God.  When God speaks to us He often gives us a directive that must be obeyed if we want to experience Him.  The difficulty however, is that the directive often requires us to step out of our comfort zone and presents us with a difficult choice… Continue reading

Crisis of Belief

The fifth reality mentioned by Henry Blackaby in Experiencing God is Crisis of Belief.  When God speaks to us it almost always leads to a crisis of belief, or a choice as to whether we will exercise faith in whatever or wherever He is leading us.

The Bible tells us that, “without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that… Continue reading

God Speaks

The fourth reality of Experiencing God from Henry Blackaby’s book, Experiencing God, is that we must understand and believe that God speaks to His people.  There is evidence of this all over the Bible as well as by personal testimony of Christians everywhere.

The very opening chapters of Genesis show God … Continue reading

Invitation

Mexico School Students

In previous blogs I shared the first two of seven realities of Experiencing God as articulated by Henry Blackaby in his book Experiencing God.  Today, we come to the third reality, which is that God invites you and I to become involved with Him in His work.

God is always at work all around us.  What is He at work doing? He is at work accomplishing… Continue reading

The Great Pursuit

The second reality mentioned by Blackaby in his book Experiencing God is God pursues a love relationship with us.  That’s right!  It’s hard to even begin to imagine that the God of the universe cares about you and me.  But it’s true and this is how it works.  God is at work all around us all the time.  His work is that of … Continue reading

God at Work

It's All About God

The first of the seven realities of experiencing God is to realize that God is at work all around us, all of the time.  Jesus said in John 5:17, “My Father is always at His work to this very day, and I, too, am working.”  So many times we start out to do a great work for God and we ask Him to bless it.  Our prayer should first be… Continue reading

Experiencing God’s Power

To impact people with the love and power of Jesus Christ in order to develop them into fully devoted followers of Christ.  This is our mission statement here at Powerhouse Christian Church, but what does it really mean? Continue reading
